Hi, I’m Michael Baker, the founder of The Points Concierge. My journey into the world of points began in 2012 when I booked my first free flight to Thailand. After returning to the U.S. full-time in 2019, I became deeply fascinated with the possibilities of traveling on points. I dove into learning and experimenting, uncovering the incredible potential of traveling on points.
Travel has always been my passion, but like many, I found the destinations I dreamed of visiting to be out of my budget. I wasn’t aiming for 5-star resorts or business class flights—just economy seats and 3-star hotels, which still added up. That’s when points became my game-changer. It started with a simple goal: planning a memorable belated honeymoon for my wife.
Initially, I couldn’t imagine traveling in ultra-luxury, but as I gained experience, it became a reality. Over time, points unlocked access to high-end resorts, airport lounges, elite hotel status, and yes—business and first-class flights. Our first long-haul business class flight was unforgettable, and staying at our first ultra-luxury resort was life-changing. Those experiences got us hooked, inspiring us to explore even more.
